The 2019 Manuka Doctor Necker Cup presented by Metal is a six-day/five-night, all-inclusive, world class Pro-Am Tennis Event taking place on Sir Richard Branson’s private island, Necker Island December 4 – 9, 2019.

ATP / WTA Tour Players/Legends are paired up with amateur teams of all levels, who compete in this fun and spirited tennis competition. A handicapped scoring format makes it competitive for every player. Teams consist of one pro and up to two amateurs. Teams compete to win their bracket and earn a chance to play in the Necker Cup Finals to be held on December 8th before the Charity Tennis Exhibition.

As well as great tennis, participants enjoy exclusive dinners and parties, networking opportunities and activities like paddle boarding, kite surfing, sailing, snorkeling, beach tennis and more.

Former world No. 1 singles and doubles player, Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario of Spain was one of the most dominant players of her generation. In 1989 she defeated Steff Graf at Roland Garros to become the youngest women’s grand slam champion.

Benjamin Nicholas Monroe is an American professional tennis player. He has won 3 ATP World Tour titles and 12 ATP Challenger Tour titles in his career.

Haas reached world No. 2 in 2002 with 15 career titles. Hindered by a few injuries, Haas resiliently came back twice and ascended to the top 20 three more times over the next decade. Haas officially retired in 2018 after a 22 year successful career.

Jack Sock is one of the best American singles players having won four career ATP titles, reaching a career high of World No. 8. Jack is also a doubles specialist having won fourteen doubles titles, including one US Open Mixed Doubles title, Two Wimbledon Men’s Doubles titles and one ATP World Tour Doubles title. Jack was part of the Laver Cup 2019.

 

RADEK STEPANEK

Radek Stepanek is a retired professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 8 and best doubles ranking was world No. 4. Stepanek’s biggest achievements are reaching two Masters 1000 event finals and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2006. He won his 1st Grand Slam title at the 2012 Australian Open.

DANIEL NESTOR

Nestor is regarded as one of the greatest doubles players of all time reaching No. 1 in 2002 and accumulating 91 titles over his 28 year career. His longevity and continued success at the top of men’s tennis has made him one of the foremost doubles players in tennis history. Nestor has stood out in the leadership role, especially in his later years taking time to mentor some younger players like Vasek Pospisil. His pride for Canada is evident with every Davis Cup and Olympic appearance, representing and fighting for something greater than himself.

One of the best doubles players of all time. She is a Hall of Fame winner of 17 Grand Slam doubles titles with various partners and 2 Olympic Gold Medals. She was named Puerto Rican Athlete of the Century in 2000.

JOHAN KRIEK

Australian born Johan Kriek will be joining our three day voyage and tennis program. Kriek has been coaching for several years, and is known for his unique coaching style which focuses on the individuality of each student. Besides boasting an impressive tennis resume, Kriek is also known for his wonderful sense of humor and outgoing personality.

  • Only South African to hold a Grand Slam singles title. Won two Australian Open titles, and reached the semifinals of the French and U.S. Opens, as well as the quarterfinals of Wimbledon.
  • Won 14 professional singles, and 8 doubles titles, reaching an all-time high ranking of No. 7 in singles, and No. 12 in doubles.
  • Founder of the Global Water Foundation, a non profit organization dedicated to delivering clean water to the word’s neediest communities.
  • Founder of Johan Kriek Tennis Academy in Florida.
 

BRADLEY KLAHN

American Bradley Klahn won the 2010 Men’s NCAA tennis singles championships, turning pro in 2012. Klahn reached a career high of World No. 63 on the ATP tour. In 2014 he competed in all four Grand Slam Championship events. Also, during his career, he has notched wins over such well-known ATP tour players as Sam Groth, David Ferrer and Tennys Sandgren. Today, Klahn is the ninth highest ranked American tennis pro on the ATP tour.
