28th Annual Rally in the Valley

Tournament Features:

Featuring Calcutta Betting, Poker, a Kentucky Derby watch Party and the “World Famous Johnny Fecta”

New for 2020:

While our main goal is to keep the spirit of the event the same, we have added a few features to help liven up the atmosphere. We’ve been granted more use of the clubhouse for extended parties and poker, we are bringing in a live music event, adding competitions like putting and chipping, adding swag bags, utilizing a shuttle service, and enhancing the food and beverage, just to name a few!

Format, Rules of Play & Prizes

  1. Captains will be chosen based upon handicaps and their knowledge of other golfers participating.
  2. The highest handicap captain will have the first pick in the first round of the team selection process, with the lowest handicap captain picking last.
  3. Should more than one of the highest handicap captains have similar handicaps; a drawing will be held to determine who will pick first, second, third, etc.
  4. The selection format for the second round picks will be in the same order as first round picks, with the highest handicaps picking first, the lowest picking last.
  5. The selection process for the third and final round will be reversed from the first and second round selections, with the lowest handicap captain picking first.  Again, should there be more than one person with the same low handicap names will be drawn to determine who gets the first pick.

IMPORTANT – During the 2nd day selection process, captains may not be allowed to pick any players they played with the first day.

  1. The team captain and their first pick will tee off from the BLUE TEE BOX (does not apply to players 65 years of age or older).
  2. The 2nd and 3rd picks will tee off from the WHITE TEE BOX (does not apply to players 65 years of age and older)
  3. All players 65 years of age and older will tee off from the YELLOW TEE BOX on every hole.

IMPORTANT – On all par threes should your tee shot come to rest closer than any previous tee shots landing on the green, you should write your name on the designated closest to the hole sign and then upon completion of the hole, place the sign where your tee shot came to rest.  The last group will be required to bring in and return the closest to the hole sign to the club house.

  1. Best Ball, Four-(4) man scramble
  2. Each participant hits a tee shot and then the team decides which ball to play for its second shot.  This process will continue until the ball is in the cup.
  3. There are no mulligans on any hole. Also there are no foot wedges, no putter ramps out of the sand traps, no amnesia.
  4. There is no practice putting on any green.  No tapping the ball to your team member to gauge the speed of the putt, or the break in the green, therefore; any ball hit with a putter (or any other club) on the green prior to finishing the hole will be counted as a stroke.
  5. There is a one-(1) club rule with respect to playing your next shot. After selecting the ball to be played, you may then have an option to move the ball within one club length no closer to the hole, prior to hitting the next shot.

IMPORTANT: You may not however improve your lie by moving from the rough to the fairway. You may move the ball one club length within the same area of play only. If you are in the water you may not move the ball one club length out of the water. The same applies if you are in a sand trap, the rough or any other hazard. You may only move the ball one club length within the same hazard.
